VerseVAD training is being developed for readers, teachers, students, and researchers who would benefit from a guided introduction to the application and the methods behind it.
The aim is not only to demonstrate where to click. Training will also address how VerseVAD produces its results, what its measurements can reasonably support, and how computational evidence can be used alongside close reading.
Planned Training
Future offerings are noted below. They will consist of a provided learner text guide and an assessment consisting of a multiple-choice knowledge assessment and applied analysis (submitted online). Right now, training is planned to be free, but in the future there may be a small nominal charge to cover the cost of program development, etc.
Foundations of VerseVAD
A practical introduction to the application, including individual-poem analysis, corpus tools, visualizations, and exports.
Computational Close Reading with VerseVAD
A closer look at affective, lexical, structural, and prosodic measurements, with attention to interpretation, coverage, and methodological limitations.
Teaching with VerseVAD
Guidance for instructors interested in using VerseVAD in literature, poetry, writing, or digital-humanities courses.
Certified VerseVAD Analyst (Levels 1 & 2)
Training for scholars and students designing comparative studies, building reference corpora, interpreting corpus relationships, or preparing reproducible research.
VerseVAD Authorized Instructor
For scholars and professionals looking to teach workshops covering VerseVAD functionality for computational poetics, or that prominently feature VerseVAD as a computational poetics or digital humanities tool.

Initial materials and guided training opportunities will be announced after the application, documentation, and supporting resources have been finalized for public use.
